This seminar will investigate and analyze case studies of innovation and leadership demonstrated by American leaders driving change in industry, the military, and society. Disruptive technologies and innovative concepts drive change and reveal leadership. America is a hotbed of innovation because of the great diversity of our culture, the blend of liberty and capitalism that creates a friendly economic environment and a culture that celebrates risk taking.

This seminar has three objectives:

• First, is to engage the students in a dialogue regarding the latest thinking and conceptual frameworks in innovation and leadership theory.
• Second, is to use case studies to expose the students to some of America’s most influential and most innovative leaders by assessing the positives and negatives of their innovation and leadership through the lens of the conceptual frameworks introduced.
• Third, is to inspire the students to think of themselves as leaders in whatever field of endeavor they should choose and to understand the possibilities for innovation that lie before them.
